Recently Dorothy Perkins did a survey to find out what the nation’s favourite dresses were, and turns out the most popular style of dress in Edinburgh is the shirt dress. They asked me to style one of their shirt dresses as part of the #DPDressesTheNation campaign, so I headed over to the Meadows to fly the flag for us Edinburgh ladies. There’s nothing better than a day of lounging in the Meadows when the sun’s out, especially at this time of year when the cherry blossoms are out in full force. This soft denim shirt dress is perfect for lazy summer days. It’s comfy, stylish and has pockets – what more could you want from a dress?
I’ve paired the dress with some cream heels which are from Dorothy Perkins too. It makes a nice change to kick off my black ankle boots and swap them for something a little more summery! Accessories wise, I’ve kept things nice and simple with a tan satchel bag from one of my favourite Edinburgh shops, Godiva Boutique, and a geometric necklace from Wolf & Moon which I bought from Black Box Boutique (another Edinburgh favourite which recently closed down, boo!).
You can shop all Dorothy Perkins dresses here, and don’t forget to check out all the other city ambassadors and how they’ve styled their dresses with the #DPDressesTheNation map. If you fancy getting involved too, you can win a year’s supply of Dorothy Perkins dresses just by snapping a picture of yourself in your favourite Dorothy Perkins dress somewhere in your city. Then upload it to Instagram with the hashtag #DPDressesTheNation and keep your fingers crossed!
