Outfit: Exploring Edinburgh with Joanie Clothing

Baby pink isn’t usually my kind of colour, but when I saw the Bianca jumper from Joanie Clothing, I fell in love a little bit. Retro style, frilled details, embroidered slogan – what’s not to like? Don’t worry though, everything I paired it with is black so I’m not straying too far for my usual uniform.

You might have noticed I did an Instagram Stories takeover with Joanie earlier this week, and I’ve also put together an Edinburgh city guide for the Joanie blog. Be sure to head over there to find out where I took the Joanie gals on tour.

Joanie kitted me out with an outfit so I looked the part for the day out, and here’s what I chose.

I’m totally getting Grease vibes from the baby pink jumper, flared polka dot skirt and leather jacket. I love Joanie’s retro vibe, especially their slogan jumpers. You can dress them up a wee bit, like I’ve done here with a skirt and heeled boots, or go for a cute and casual jeans and jumper combo.

Picking up on the embroidered red “The Girl Can’t Help It’ slogan on the jumper, I went for red accessories with my bright bag from H&M, red nail polish and – of course – some red lipstick. I’ve had so many compliments on this bag (including a very cute old lady at a bus stop) and it cost less than £30. Bargain.

Red and pink are two of those colours you’re not supposed to wear together, but I think they look pretty nice – what about you?

I think I’m going to get a lot of use out of the Quinn skirt. It’s the sort of skirt that works for both day and night. Dress it down with a t-shirt or jumper, or dress it up with something sparkly or a sheer shirt. It’s the perfect length as well, not too short that it feels inappropriate to wear to brunch, but not so long that it ends up looking frumpy.

Joanie have got their end of season sale on at the moment, and it’s definitely worth checking out for a few bargains. I’ve also got my eye on the adorrrrrable Ciao jumper from the New In section!

Don’t forget to head over to the Joanie Clothing blog to read my Edinburgh city guide, including brunch, cake, shopping and sightseeing recommendations.
