Not On The High Street is one of my favourite website to browse. Whether you’re looking for a personalised gift, a unique Christmas present, or just a little something for yourself, they have pretty much everything your heart could desire.
My flat is filled with little trinkets and treasures I’ve collected from Not On The High Street over the years, the latest being this Weekly Planner Desk Pad* by Elle Jane Designs. It has already come in very handy to keep me organised this week – as much as I love writing endless to-do lists in Evernote, sometimes you can’t beat some good old fashioned pretty stationery to keep you motivated at work!
I’ve also got some Star Earrings by Luna Emporium, a Personalised Map Location Letter by Bombus, some Mini Milk Bottles by The Flower Studio, Personalised Glitter Christmas Baubles* by Twenty Seven, a Less Whine More Wine Pin Badge by Veronica Dearly… the list goes on – I’m sure you get the idea!
I love supporting independent designers, and Not On The High Street makes that really easy with their carefully curated selection of British designers and makers. As well as being a great website for shoppers, it’s also a fantastic platform for small, creative businesses to sell their products.
In order to find new independent designers to join the site, Not On The High Street hold regular Pitch Up events and they’re coming to Edinburgh for the first time on 9th March. Pitch Up is the perfect opportunity for Scottish designers to pitch their innovative products and gift ideas to the expert team at Not On The High Street, and successful pitchers will get the chance to join the website as a Partner.
Pitch Up Edinburgh: 9th March 2017 at Dovecot Studios. Book a slot here.
After three years of successful Pitch Up events in England, the Not On The High Street team is bringing the event to Scotland for the first time. They want to make the event accessible to creative business from all across the UK – not just London – and are especially keen to discover emerging Scottish designers. Pitch Up has already helped over 300 small businesses start selling online as a Not On The High Street Partner.
As well as the possibility of becoming a Partner, attendees will also be given lots of expert feedback and advice about developing products and selling online during their 10 minute presentation. If you’re a small, creative business and fancy taking your business to the next level, why not apply for a place at Pitch Up?
