Scandinavia seems to be everyone’s favourite place at the moment. From their relaxed way of living and the hygge trend, to understated fashion and cool furniture design, Scandi style is everywhere.
Ever since a holiday to Copenhagen a couple of years ago, I’ve been a little bit in love with Denmark so I was excited to see that Danish design brand BoConcept had recently opened a store in Edinburgh.
With a passion for functional minimalism and affordable design, the furniture and home accessories at BoConcept are both beautifully designed and practical for urban homes.
I first discovered BoConcept a couple of months ago when I was walking along Rose Street and the furniture in the window of their new store drew me in. I love Danish design and the whole store is a Pinterest dream – think muted colours, textured blankets, gold and copper accents and of course plenty of minimalist designer furniture.
Visit BoConcept Edinburgh at:
19B Rose Street, EH2 2PR
In the Edinburgh shop, you can check out BoConcept’s designer furniture, get advice from the team of interior designers about how to create your dream home, or pick up some home accessories to add the finishing touches to your room.
BoConcept is a contemporary interiors store, so the products are designed using glass, metal and modern upholstery with a Danish design twist. Whether you’re looking for the perfect furniture to kit out your new home or just fancy a browse to give you inspiration for the future, I’d definitely recommend popping into BoConcept Edinburgh to check out the new store. BoConcept Edinburgh also offer a free design service and installation service throughout Scotland.
My BoConcept Picks
Although sadly I don’t have a house to decorate at the moment, I’ve already got my eye on a few BoConcept pieces that I’d love to invest in whenever I buy my first home.
One thing I love about BoConcept is that most of the pieces are totally customisable – you can choose the fabric style and colour, type of wood or metal finish to suit your room.
Having my own home office is The Dream, and the Cupertino Desk looks like it would be the ideal workspace. I love that it’s functional as well as pretty – the storage sections would be great for keeping the desk clutter free, and it even has a space for your phone/laptop charger to pop through.
I also love the Adelaide Lounge Chair which would be great on its own as a desk chair, or as part of a set of dining chairs. This shape and style of chair is exactly what springs to mind when I think of Danish design – it’s a classic!
As someone who is a little bit of a hoarder, you can never have too much storage space. The Lugano Highboard would be perfect for keeping things neat and tidy. I love the subtle nod to mid-century style with the wooden legs, mixed with the sleek, modern lines of the drawers.
