I don’t know about you, but I’m a big fan of diamonds. The majority of my jewellery is just costume jewellery, but I do have a few bits and pieces which I’ve received as presents which are a bit more special. Although I like most precious gemstones, you really can’t go wrong with some diamonds. Recently Browns Family Jewellers sent me a lovely gift of a pair of diamond stud earrings and challenged me to style them up to suit my own look. Diamonds are usually thought of as super fancy and dressy, but as these studs are so simple and classic I thought they would work perfectly with a more casual outfit.
Diamond Stud Earrings* from Browns Family Jewellers · Botanical Floral Trousers from Warehouse · Polly Plains Stitch T-Shirt from French Connection · Highwood Clogs from Lotta From Stockholm · Fiorelli Necklace* from House of Fraser · Bag from Primark
Last week I spotted these trousers in the Warehouse sale, and as they were half price I couldn’t help but snap them up. They’re a bit brighter and bolder than what I usually wear, but I loved them as soon as I tried them on. The dark botanical print is exactly the sort of floral pattern I love, and they’re so light and comfortable that they’re great for wearing on warm summer days. I’ve paired them with one of my favourite t-shirts, a black floaty number from French Connection, and my Lotta From Stockholm clogs. I’m seriously lacking in sandals at the moment, however as Scotland hasn’t had much of a summer this year I’ve been doing just fine with my one pair of Lottas!
As the diamond earrings from Browns are so simple, I thought I’d go with a bit more of a statement necklace to finish off the jewellery. This necklace, which is by Fiorelli at House of Fraser, is still quite simple and classic but adds a nice bit of interest to a black top. The bag also has that classic sort of thing going on and it looks quite fancy even though it’s actually just from Primark. I love slightly structured bags and this one has a really nice shape – plus plenty of room to keep all my junk in.
