Dare I say it… I think summer is finally here! Admittedly, it has still been pretty rainy but it’s definitely much warmer. I always find it really hard to dress for summer because 90% of my wardrobe is made up of black things or jumpers or – wait for it – black jumpers. In an attempt to break away from my usual black jeans, black top and black trainers combo, I’ve been browsing the shops for some more summery attire.
Smith Sunglasses from IOLLA · Linea Lara Tote from House of Fraser · Black Leather Block Heel Sandals from New Look · Polly Plains Stitch Tee from French Connection · White Stripe Balloon Midi Skirt from New Look · Marble U Necklace from Wolf & Moon · Coral Clic Wooden iPhone Case from Oliver Bonas · Braided Belt from H&M
I’d love to start wearing midi skirts more often, and this striped number from New Look seems like it would be perfect for everyday wear, bridging the gap between too casual and too smart. The Polly Plains tees from French Connection are my favourite smart-casual tshirts for exactly the same reason. They’re so easy to chuck on with a pair of jeans and you instantly look a bit more dressed up – but not too over the top for wearing to work or out for lunch.
To add a bit of colour to an otherwise monochrome outfit, you can’t go wrong with a nice bright bag. Coral is my favourite colour for summer and this Lara Tote from Linea at House of Fraser looks like it would be the perfect size for a daily bag. There’s a great selection of bags from House of Fraser online at the moment – definitely worth having a look if you’re on the hunt for a new summer bag!
I’d finish the outfit off with a nice statement necklace. Last week I treated myself to a new Watermelon Necklace from Hannah Zakari which would go perfectly with this outfit, but as it’s a wishlist I’ve popped an equally lovely necklace from Wolf & Moon in instead. I’ve got quite a few Wolf & Moon pieces now and they are so pretty, may end up treating myself to this Marble Necklace as well!
