It’s been a while since I last did a beauty review, eh? Truth be told, I’ve settled into a routine of products that I like and I hardly ever branch out and try something new these days. But, after heading over to Glasgow for an event with the lovely Benefit team a couple of weeks ago, I think I might just have found a new staple to add to my beauty routine. The Precisely, My Brow eyebrow pencil is perfect for everyday brow styling and it has earned a place in my daily makeup bag.
Precisely, My Brow has a thin mechanical brow pencil on one end and a spoolie brush on the other. As the name suggests, it’s great for precise application and you can really customise the way your finished brows look. Here, I’ve gone for a slightly heavier application to create really defined brows – the sort of thing I’d want to a night out. However on “no-makeup makeup” days, it’s really easy to create much more natural looking brows by using the Precisely, My Brow pencil to create tiny little strokes that look like individual eyebrow hairs. Having the spoolie attached is great too because you can quickly brush through your brows to put them in place before using the pencil, or brush through them again after application to soften up the edges.
Precisely, My Brow comes in six different shades for light, medium and deep tones. I went for shade 5 which is a pretty good match for me. It’s quite a warm-toned brown which suits me well, but if you’re more of a cool-toned brunette it might be worth swatching the darker shade 6 which is less or warm, or one of the lighter ashy shades. Precisely, My Brow is part of Benefit’s brand new Brow Collection which is has ten different products to help you create perfect brows. Handily, all the shades work the same way, so once you work out your shade number for one product you know you’ll be the same throughout the collection.
For the past couple of years, Anastasia Brow Wiz has been my brow product of choice and Precisely, My Brow is very similar – so if you like Brow Wiz, you’re sure to like this latest offering from Benefit! I’d say the Benefit one is every so slightly creamier to apply whereas Anastasia is a tiny bit more solid, but other than that they’re virtually identical. The main benefit of Benefit (ha!) is that you can easily pop in to your local counter to get colour matched or to swatch the products for yourself. It’s always nice to be able to get a proper feel for a product before you buy it, so this is a definite plus for me.
Overall, Precisely, My Brow is a great little product which is ideal for creating everything from minimal, natural brows to a super defined glamorous look. Have you tried any of the new Benefit Brow Collection yet?
