Sunday Summary #147

1.Pumpkins 2.Happy Halloween 3.Autumn in Edinburgh 4.Wayne's World 5.Party time, excellent 6.Sunday treats

These photos are all looking rather autumnal, aren't they? I am loving the dark nights, rustling leaves and the nippy chill in the air. I'm snuggled up on the sofa just now, getting ready to wrap myself in blankets and watch a few solid hours of American Horror Story Coven (thanks Netflix!). Perf. Today has been a pretty perf day in general, despite not really planning to do anything. After a wee wander through the sunny Meadows, Laura and I went for a late brunch at Heller's Kitchen. After that we headed over to the Grassmarket and meandered round a few shops. The first stop was Godiva Boutique, where I treated myself to the Runaway Fox stag necklace which I've had my eye on for months. We then went over to Red Door Gallery and spent ages admiring all the beautiful prints - we're planning to start a gallery wall soon, and I'm sure we'll be back to snap up a few of the designs. Lindsey Brown has an exhibition on at Red Door at the moment and I loved her illustrations, particularly the wee raccoons. I was very tempted to buy the big print but settled for a card to put in a frame for the moment. The next port of call was Black Box Boutique where I bought myself a shiny little necklace by Wolf & Moon, and then we got ourselves a smoothie at Hula for the walk home. Laaaverly!

Friday was Halloween (aka my favourite time of year) and Laura and I went as Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World. Party time, excellent! Although our Halloween plans didn't go exactly as planned, we all had a good night dancing away to old tunes in Citrus Club. I (as always) got a bit over enthusiastic with the baking, so we're probably going to be eating pumpkin cake pops and ghost brownies for weeks!

There's not much else to report from this week as I've just been busy working. I've got a few days off next week so that will be good - although to be honest, I'll probably be spending them catching up on sleep and Netflix. Such an exciting life I lead! It's my birthday on Friday and my parents are coming down to visit for the weekend, so I'm looking forward to a couple of fancy dinners and a trip to see the rugby at Murrayfield.

What have you been up to this week?

  1. Sounds like a lovely weekend and the shops you mentioned are my favourites in Edinburgh - I've bought enough cards from The Red Door Gallery to see me through the next 5 years of Valentines Days/Birthdays/Occasions requiring a thank you card, etc :) I've just finished watching the first season of American Horror Story but had heard mixed reviews about season 2 - will wait to hear your thoughts on season 3 then maybe just skip to it :)
