It seems all I ever talk about in my Sunday Summaries is food and drink, but let’s be honest, those are definitely the best things in life. On Monday evening I headed along to Tigerlily for some drinks to celebrate my pal’s birthday. I think the last time I saw her was almost a year ago, so a catch up was well and truly in order! After a few drinks there, we all headed next door to Candy Bar for more cocktails and some food. I, of course, opted for a burger. I know, I know, I have an addicccccttttionnnnn I need help. It was all a very civilised affair (unlike birthdays past – I’m looking at you skittles vodka incident of 2010) and I was home and tucked up in bed by 11 o’clock.

The same cannot be said for Thursday evening’s dinner and drinks, however. I was invited along to the launch party of Clerk’s Bar along with some of my blogger chums, and we were looking forward to a few drinks and nibbles. I had already been into Clerk’s a couple of times before, so I knew it was going to be good. We were thoroughly spoilt with plates and plates of amazing food and endless top ups of wine and beer and cider and at one point there was even sambuca and jagerbombs involved. So much for dinner and a couple of drinks then home early for work the next day! Everyone else was fairly sensible and went home at various points throughout the evening, but Laura, Iona and I stayed to the bitter end, spending every last drinks token we could get our mitts on. Thanks Clerk’s, you really were TOO good to us! I think the less said about the rest of the night the better, but let’s just say that Irn Bru was very necessary the next morning. Stay tuned for a full post about Clerk’s soon.

Apart from that, I’ve just been busy at work. The website has had a wee makeover (and a new logo designed by yours truly!), and we’re busy organising a few pretty exciting things behind the scenes at the moment. Can’t wait to announce it all, keep your eyes peeled on the Madefromscotland Twitter and Facebook for updates!

I’ve got a flat inspection next week so this weekend I’ve been attempting to properly clean the flat. It took me ALL DAY yesterday to clean my bedroom, and it doesn’t even look any tidier but somehow I managed to throw out two big binbags worth of stuff?! Once I’ve finished tidying the rest of the flat, I think the next job will be Ebaying lots and lots of clothes as I can no longer fit everything in my wardrobe.

What have you been up to this week?

Can't wait for your Clerk's post so I can relive the pulled pork. Did you get emailed about that clothes swap on Thursday. I think I'm going to go if you'd like to come with me, would be a good way to get rid of some of those clothes!

  • Ahh Candy Bar – an institution I feel like I've been to because I hear about it so much yet I never have been! Some of the jewellery on the made in scotland website is beautiful <3
