This seems to have been a pretty busy week, filled with the two things I do best: eating and drinking. It all started off on Monday evening with a stroll through the Meadows over to 56 North for an introduction to the brand new Gloworm Drinks. I’ll have a full blog post coming up soon so keep your eyes peeled for that. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the Gloworm Drinks mixers were, and of course I couldn’t say no to trying out some Gloworm cocktails too! After the event, Kirsty, Lynne and I headed to Bar Kohl for some burgers to soak up the booze.

Nothing exciting to report from Tuesday and Wednesday, but on Thursday it was time for another event. This time it was a “burger blind date” at TGI Friday’s through in Glasgow. We were given a menu with cheeky Cilla Black Blind Date style descriptions, and had to choose our burger based on which one sounded like the best match. I went for a pulled pork creation which was deeeelish (and of course washed it down with a couple of cocktails). If you’re a fan of burgers and cocktails (of course you are), watch out for a post on this too! Despite the cocktails, and a few more drinks at Wetherspoons before the last train home, I was feeling fairly bright and breezy when I got up for work on Friday morning. I was starting to flag by lunchtime, but never fear, Laura and I took a trip to Pizza Express to try out their new lunch menu which perked me up. Yummmm. If only I could have pizza for lunch every day!

Instead of lying in bed all day on Saturday, I set my alarm and got up early for a visit to the Edinburgh Farmers Market with Laura. I’ve been wanting to go for yeeeaars, but getting out of bed early on a Saturday is not one of my strong points. Having made plans to meet Laura, however, forced me to get out of bed instead of going back to sleep and telling myself “I’ll just go next week instead”. I had such a nice wee morning strolling around the market, feeling like a grown up, and buying lots of food. As well as all of the stuff I bought in the picture above, we also had sausages in a roll for breakfast, followed by a Nutella crepe for afters. Nice! In the afternoon we went for a little jaunt into town and had a wander round some shops. I bought a couple of makeup bits and pieces, and also nabbed myself quite a few samples too. One of which was the new Viktor & Rolf Bonbon Perfume. OMG IT IS SO GOOD. Perfume is one thing I hate spending money on (I don’t know why, I’d happily spend £30 on a foundation and not even think twice), but I think I’ll have to make an exception for this one.

What have you been up to this week?
