September already, say whaaaaat? I can’t wait for autumn, but at the same time this year seems to be marching away rather quickly and it’s going to be Christmas before I know it. The last couple of weeks have been pretty busy but also very fun; I’ve been spending most of my time with my pals, eating and drinking and going out and just having a good time. The highlight of this week was definitely going to see Alkaline Trio at the Liquid Rooms on Wednesday. They’ve been my favourite band for almost 10 years (gaaaad, that makes me feel so old!) but this was the first time I’d been to one of their gigs, so needless to say I was preeeeetty excited about it. I haven’t really been to many gigs in the last few years, but my gigging partner in crime, Morag, from my school days came along to keep me company. It wasn’t a proper album tour so the band were mostly playing old songs, I was totally fangirling the whole way through. And they finished with Radio, absolutely PERF. After the gig, Morag and I headed over to The Hive for some extremely sweaty dancing (mmm) and although we didn’t quite last until the end of Hive til Five, I think getting home at 4am wasn’t too bad an effort!

Earlier in the week, I headed through to Glasgow for the second week of my volunteering at the Scottish Civic Trust. I’m going to be doing the social media and blogging for Doors Open Days over the next couple of months, and I’m loving it so far. This week I got the Doors Open Days Blog all set up and the first post published; if you want to go and give it a cheeky little follow I will love you forever! I’m going to be blogging about my experiences as a volunteer with the Trust as well as my adventures visiting various Doors Open Days buildings and events throughout September. If you’re interested in Doors Open Days/heritage/history at all (it’s FUN guys!), you should come and say hello over on Twitter, Facebook or Pinterest too. If any of you Scottish bloggers happen to be visiting any Doors Open Days things then do give me a shout!

I think all the late nights from the last couple of weeks are finally catching up with me as I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather for the last few days. It’s just a cold so hopefully it won’t stick around for too long – perfect excuse to stay in bed all day and eat chocolate, yes? I think I’m going to spend this afternoon catching up on emails and watching films, what are you getting up to?

P.S. I did a mini interview with Boohoo about online versus high street shopping for Real Business magazine – have a read here!
