Makeup that lasts all day without the need for touch-ups is every girl’s dream, am I right? I hate having to constantly check the mirror, so I’m always on the look out for beauty products that are long lasting and will stay put all day. These are my top 5 picks to keep your face looking flawless all day.

Benefit Porefessional:
Applying a primer is always the first step in my makeup routine. I love Porefessional as it’s quite lightweight and leaves your skin feeling really smooth and silky. It really helps to reduce the appearance of pores, and creates a nice blank canvas to apply the rest of your makeup to. After using a primer, your makeup applies more evenly and lasts longer. I really like the Porefessional but this tube is nearly done, I quite fancy trying the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer next!

Estée Lauder Double Wear Light Foundation:
If you know you’re going to be out and about all day and want your makeup to last, choose a foundation specifically designed to be long lasting. I love Estée Lauder Double Wear Light as it’s not too heavy, but it does manage to stay in place all day. Avoid foundations which are overly dewy as they tend to slide more easily. Double Wear Light is great as it still looks quite natural but it doesn’t melt away after a few hours.

Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder:
I pretty much always use a powder, even if I’m going for a very natural, no effort makeup look. A light dusting of Chanel’s Loose Powder over my nose, chin and cheeks really helps to keep the dreaded shine at bay. You only need the tiniest amount, and it definitely makes your makeup stay in place longer. I love this Chanel powder as it’s really lightweight and natural looking, so you never look over-powdered.

Real Techniques Setting Brush:
Rather than a traditional big fluffy brush to apply my powder, I prefer using a smaller one for more precise application. The Real Techniques Setting Brush is the perfect size to apply a little bit of powder to the areas that need it, rather than wasting lots of product and putting it all over your face. It’s also great for hard to reach places, like if you need to set concealer underneath your eyes.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray:
Once you’ve finished applying your makeup, using a setting spray is a great way to lock it all in place. The Urban Decay All Nighter spray is a fine mist which is undetectable on the skin and keeps your makeup looking perfect all day. It seems to help makeup settle into your skin better, and then keeps it there all day. It’s also nice and refreshing!

What products do you use to keep your face in place?

I don't wear alot of make up during the day so never tried a primer. I've heard do much about that smash box one, its pricey though. Is the benefit one pricey too?

I think it's £23.50, although I got mine as part of a set so it was slightly cheaper! It does seem expensive, but you only need a tiny amount so it lasts forever – I've had this tube for over a year and it's still got a month or two's worth of product left. x
