Mixtape: December

December mixtape // via Spotify

I usually post my monthly mixtapes at the end of the month, but I thought I would do this one a little early as a festive treat to help you get into the Christmas spirit. It’s basically impossible to put up a Christmas tree or wrestle with trying to wrap up circular presents (I mean seriously, HOW is it done?) without a suitable soundtrack – plenty of classic cheese and jingle bells aplenty, but with a sprinkling of ~alternative~ tunes too. I’m off to the Scottish Bloggers Christmas Party this evening so I will definitely be putting this on in the background whilst I adorn myself with glitter and red lipstick. What’s your favourite Christmas song?

The Raveonettes // The Christmas Song
The Waitresses // Christmas Wrapping
Hall & Oates // Jingle Bell Rock
Johnny Cash // White Christmas
She & Him // Sleigh Ride
The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl // Fairytale of New York
Sufjan Stevens // Holly Jolly Christmas
Elvis Presley // Blue Christmas
Frankie Goes To Hollywood // The Power of Love
Hurts // All I Want for Christmas is New Year’s Day

  • We were just talking last night about 'alternative' Christmas songs. There's one or two songs in here I don't recognise the name to so will have a nosey after work. 😉
