Leather Jacket: French Connection*
Dress: Oasis (via Ebay)
Boots: Ebay

A couple of weeks ago an email popped into my inbox asking if I would like to review some of French Connection’s new Autumn/Winter collection, and I was delighted when the Athena Jacket landed on my doormat a few days ago. I have been meaning to add a faux leather jacket to my wardrobe for forever but have just never quite got round to it. This jacket is absolutely gorgeous, I love the biker style and the quilted shoulders. The faux leather material feels lovely and soft but very durable, so I think it’s definitely worth the money as it feels like a great quality piece of clothing. French Connection is a bit more expensive than the shops I normally buy from, but if you’re going to be buying a classic, staple item like a coat or jacket which you’ll wear every day then I think it’s worth the investment.

The Athena Jacket has a lovely fitted shape and looks great with dresses and heels. I’ve paired it with my latest Ebay bargain here, an Oasis floral skater dress which I managed to win for around £5. Trawling through Ebay can be a bit boring, but it’s definitely worth it when you find nice things for cheap! Unfortunately I forgot to take a close up of the rose print as I was too busy posing in my new leather jacket, pretending I’m much more badass than I actually am. The only downside to this jacket is that it is quite tight fitting so I don’t think I’ll be able to squeeze big woolly jumpers underneath it when winter arrives. Think I might use that as an excuse to buy another more slouchy leather jacket, and keep this as my going-out one. You can never have too many jackets, right?!

Where is your favourite leather jacket from?

I still don't have a proper leather jacket! Your new one looks absolutely gorgeous.

I love the quilted shoulders! Very classy! I agree with never having too much jackets! *& this coming from someone who lives in a tropical country!) 😉

I'm on the hunt for a good leather jacket for this A/W. Last year I had to reluctantly admit that the H&M faux leather jacket I'd worn for years was now erring on the side of scruffiness lol. This is an absolute beaut. I'm a massive fan of the biker/bomber styles. Going to have a wistful peek at the website now x

  • Love the leather jacket! I have to say Gillian you are bloomin' gorgeous! 🙂

This jacket is amazing! I managed to snag a real leather one from New Look in my second year of uni for £25 which is a similar style and it is one of my favourite bargains ever!

I've been after a biker style jacket for ages and this one looks great, even though a little bit expensive. I think I'll be adding this to my boyfriend's favourites! xo

  • Gooooorgeous jacket. The faux leather looks really soft. The detailing is great too. My favourite leather jacket is an old H&M one, the Bomber shaped one, from a few seasons back. Live in that thing.

That is a lovely jacket, great choice! I live the quilted detail. I got my leather jacket from River Island two years ago and it is so comfy, but like yours it's a tight fit so it gets saved for occasions where I don't need lots of layers. Xo

  • I love the print on this dress, the jacket looks great with it too. You look beautiful 🙂

  • Lovely jacket – really suits you. Love the quilted detail of it. My favourite leather jacket is a Topshop one with a hood, so cosy. I never usually shop in FCUK as its slightly out of my price range but agree it is worth it for things that will last ages like jackets.

oooh very ncie, like the quilted detail too. Mine is the classic topshop one and I wear it constantly and I find they are perfect for nights out and a great way to give a casual or dressy outfit a rock and roll edge x

  • Joan says:

    oh i like this dress!
and leather jackets(especially black ones) are always necessary!

Gorgeous outfit – you look lovely! xx

  • Caroline says:

that jacket is really gorgeous & you are a beaut! xx

  • Love this! The dress and boots are gorgeous too. I buy quite a lot of dresses from french connection even though it is a little bit more pricey but I genuinely feel like the clothes are better quality and last longer (plus Topshop prices just rise every season so there's not so much between them now half the time!) But no, there's no such thing as too many jackets!

  • I bought mine in Dorothy Perkins and it looks really similar to this, especially the quilted shoulders! It was a bit pricey but it's worth it since you can wear it with almost anything, or at least i'm telling myself that to justify buying it haha. The only thing is, like your one, I find when I zip it up it's tight and sometimes rides up. Apart from that I love it! You look lovely Gillian, dress is sooo nice!X

I love the look of these Womens leather jackets. Leather jackets offer a great style, though they can be expensive if you don't know where to shop. I just bought a great leather jacket from Burlington Coat Factory. I was shocked at how affordable it was. They have such great deals that I finally was able to get the jacket I wanted.
