So this week I officially became a graduate of the University of Edinburgh! My graduation ceremony was held on Thursday morning so unfortunately it was a bit rainy and I did't get the chance to take many photos as I didn't want to get wet standing outside for ages. (Sorry the photo's a bit rubbish, had to steal it off Facebook!) The ceremony itself was pretty boring but I'm glad I went anyway as it's not something you get to do every day! My parents used my graduation as an excuse for a wee holiday and have been here all week, and my brother and grandparents joined us for the day of my graduation. In the evening we all went out for a meal at Oloroso for lovely food, lots of cocktails and a stunning view of Edinburgh. Typical that by the evening it was sunny, yet it was raining all morning!
I've had sooo many meals out this week, I love it when my parents come to visit! As well as Oloroso, we went to The Grainstore, Wildfire and Passorn, all of which I'd really recommend if you're in Edinburgh. Especially Passorn, it's just 2 minutes away from my flat and has the best Thai food EVER. I also went to the graduation ball on Friday and had a really nice meal there, before drinking far too much wine, playing blackjack and dancing to 80s tunes all night. I'll do a proper post about it with my outfit and such in a couple of days!
I can't believe university is over now, I've honestly had the best time here and wouldn't change a thing. If you're thinking of going to university when you leave school then DO IT, it's probably the best decision you'll ever make! It has gone by so fast but I've enjoyed every minute, I can hardly believe it's been four years since I turned up at my halls as a shy, quiet 17 year old. Big love to all my friends who have made it so amazing. ♥
Good luck to any of you who have graduations coming up soon!

ReplyDeleteCongrats on graduating. I'm always so jealous when I see people's graduation ceremonies and capes - we don't do that sort of thing in Germany!

ReplyDeleteThis makes me wish I'd gone to Edinburgh Uni! I remember looking round at an open day because Edinburgh is my favourite city, but for some reason I never actually got round to applying although I do love where I study now (: Best of luck now you've graduated, and I'll definitely keep those restaurants in mind on my next visit. xx

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! McEwan Hall looks amazing and I can't wait to graduate there next year. Bit more classy than Usher Hall like the Napier ones :P Also, no better place than Tigerlily for cocktails xx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on graduating :) it's just over two weeks until my graduation and I can't wait. Got a dress and everything sorted now and I'm just hoping that the weather stays dry for it, fingers crossed. It feels strange not going to uni any more or not having any books to read or assessments to write! xo
ReplyDeleteCongrats on graduating! I agree that the ceremonies are a little dull - that's why I was a little put off doing it all again for my MA graduation but I'm glad i did.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations lovely! xo
