Those of you with ample chests will, I'm sure, be able to identify with
Busty Girl Comics. Although I wouldn't change my boobs for the world, we do seem to have an unfair number of problems to contend with! One of my main annoyances is the fact that I can't just go into Primark or Topshop and pick up some nice, pretty and affordable underwear sets. Even Marks & Spencer - purveyor of quality pants for many years - when I checked online the other day, only had 14 bras available in my size from a selection of nearly 300. Fourteen! Ridiculous. Thank goodness for
Bravissimo, is all I can say (I just want to clarify, this post is in no way sponsored by Bravissimo, I just really love them and think they are a brilliant shop!).
I first went to Bravissimo a couple of years ago as none of my bras felt like they were fitting properly and I had heard Bravissimo were really good at measuring. I went from (what I thought was) a 38DD to a 34GG - no wonder nothing fitted properly! I've always had a really good experience shopping there as the staff are friendly and helpful, the changing rooms are nice (I always love it when shops have changing rooms with doors instead of curtains, so much better!), it never feels busy or rushed, and it's really easy to order things with free delivery to your house if they're not in stock in the shop. I do sometimes order from online shops like
Bra Stop as well as they sometimes have great bargains, but I much prefer to try things on in an actual shop first if I can. Here are my five favourites available from Bravissimo:
1. The Deco by Freya:
This is probably my all-time favourite bra, and it has been repurchased in several different colours. It's super comfy and the cups are completely smooth so it's perfect for everyday wear under tshirts or vest tops. If I could only buy one bra for the rest of time (how cruel) it would definitely be the Deco.
2. The Lucine by Bravissimo:
This bra is exclusive to Bravissimo, which means it's not sold anywhere else. This is the newest addition to my underwear collection, and it's fast becoming one of my favourites. Although it has some serious underwiring, it's also a plunge style which means you can wear it with low cut tops without your underwire poking out the top. Nothing I hate more!
3. The Bettie Mae by Bravissimo:
Another Bravissimo exclusive, this was already one of my favourites and when I noticed it was in the sale recently I ordered myself another one in case I can't find a similar one again! I really love the shape of this bra, it's a plunge style again which I think is much more flattering than a lot of 'big' bras which tend to have really high underwiring in the middle which separate and flatten your boobs. I also love the bright coral fabric, it's so nice to have a bra that's not black or nude!
4. The Tango Plunge by Panache:
Oh look, another plunge style! It's really flattering as well as being supportive, plus it comes in lots of different colours.
5.
The Alana by Bravissimo:
This was the first ever bra I bought from Bravissimo. Although it does have that annoying high underwire in the middle, I can forgive it because it's just about perfect in every other way. It's really supportive and has a decent sized strap at the back which doesn't ride up. It gives an amazing shape so it looks brilliant as long as you keep your top on, not quite so pretty and cleavage-y if you take it off haha!
Do you have a favourite style of bra? Where's your favourite place to shop for underwear?
