Sorry for the lack of 'real' photos this Sunday, but as I'm sure you're aware Instagram for Android was released this week so I've been a bit obsessed with using it! If you want to follow me on there my username is elevatormusik_ and let me know what yours are too.

It's so nice to finally be finished uni work and be able to relax for a bit. I've spent most of the week sleeping, watching Netflix and tidying the flat. I went shopping earlier in the week and got a couple of new things but restrained myself from spending too much! I also had a pair of jeans to return to Topshop; I had bought them in the sale from the website but when the shop assistant processed the return at the till it scanned through at the original price and she couldn't figure out how to change it. So I got a free £20 courtesy of Topshop, which I then proceeded to spend on cocktails that evening! My flatmate and I went out for dinner at a really nice pub just round the corner from our flat, then we met up with some other friends later on at the Dragonfly cocktail bar. This inevitably turned into a night out at the Hive and a very sore head the next day!

I've just got back from the cinema, had nothing to do this afternoon so my flatmate and I went to see Titanic. I thought it would be quite busy as it was a Sunday afternoon, but I forgot it was Easter Sunday so we ended up in the biggest screen in the whole cinema and there were only about 5 or 6 other people there! My favourite part about going to the cinema is definitely getting a huge bucket of popcorn and lots of juice. I'm a fan of salted popcorn, but everyone else seems to like sweet better, someone back me up here?!

It's my friends' birthday next week and I'm struggling to come up with gift ideas so I thought I would turn to you guys and ask for some help! They're twin girls, going to be 22 and like all the usual girl-stuff (makeup, clothes, going out etc.) plus Harry Potter, girl guiding, name meanings, everything British and Taylor Swift...I have no idea where to start?! What's the best present you've ever got from your friends? Or what's the best present you've ever given to someone? I'm looking to spend about £30ish, hit me up with ideas!

What have you been up to this week?

Gillian x

  1. I got my friend who is obsessed with Harry potter a Harry potter charm bracelet from eBay she loved it or so she said ;) I believe it was 12.99! Well within the 30 margin :)
Oh and salted popcorn is the best really don't enjoy sweet or toffee you aren't alone! Haha,

Welcome to instagram too by the way my username is jaicooke!

  2. the best present i ever received was my writing notebook from my best friend, she knows i love blank pages instead of lined and i like a pretty design on the cover but struggle to find one that meets both, so she made me one.. i love it!
And so agree on the salted popcorn, sweet just doesn't cut it anymore, I'll always go for salted. unless butter is an option.

  3. I love salt popcorn. Sweet is just wrong to me. A cheap but really cool present I have given a few times is a massive collage of photos of my friends on a board that they can hang up. They've always been well received. Depends on how much time you have on your hands tho. :) xx

  4. I really need to try Rekorderlig cider! I'm so with you on the salt popcorn! Present ideas: afternoon tea, vouchers, tickets for something, a box full of mini bits, spa voucher? it IS hard! xxx

  5. That food looks delicious! I wish I was able to get £20 for free from Topshop... I'd definitely have spent it on cocktails too!

  6. How about some cute cocktail glasses? Or my sister has got me some great presents over the years. One of the things she got me was a pic from when we were in Majorca (It's my blog avatar in fact) which she got printed out on a wood base for me (I don't know what the technical term for it is, but it's really cool). Oh, and one of my friends got me a Swaroviski pen which I still love!

  7. Sounds like you had a great time and I added you on instagram, I was so excited to get it for my droid. I'm not much of a popcorn person, I use to love it but I think I got burned out on it. I personally think some of the best gifts I've ever gotten have been something that someone made for me, like one year my best friend made me a few CDs or another year she made my monkey a bikini (long story haha).

  8. haha, i tend to waiver between salty and sweet popcorn, and although we are loving the sweet right now, i do love a bucket of salty sometimes!!

  9. Salted popcorn is THE best, you're not alone and that shower gel really does smell lovely, bought it the other day after seeing this xo
